Water play significant role in human life. Cooking, Drinking, Washing and Bathing needs of man depends a lot on availability of water in good quantity and quality. Even the wandering early man when started to settle down, chose his place near the water bodies to satisfy these needs. When the available water is not that pure, there is a need for water purification particularly for drinking and cooking.
The ill effects of impure water are evident from many water borne diseases, despite the awareness about hygiene and immunization against diseases. The best way adopted in yesteryears is to boil the water before drinking which protected the people relatively. But there as some germs which will sustain temperatures as high as 120 deg Celcius, protecting themselves and forming spores.
Further research and development brought in things like water filters which will purify water through a porous candle placed in a water drum in the top. The purified clean water which falls through the candle is collected in the bottom which is placed beneath the top drum. Though the purification is of better quality, still there was risk of germs escaping such filtering.
People started using online water filters which uses medicated gauze that take care of the germs of the running water and the purified water is collected through such filters. These were attachments to the taps particularly used in the kitchen. But over a period of time, the quality of the water came out of those filters deteriorated.
Today water purification is done through online modern gadgets that use multi stage filtering like mechanical filtering of impurities, activated charcoal, ultra violet rays to kill almost all the germs to give crystal clear pure drinking water. These models are mainly attached to the running water in the kitchen, though there are few models like water filters of earlier days, but using modern technology.
